Satu stesen special callsign iaitu 9A208DX sempena 20 tahun 9A.
Pagi ini pula aku monitor stesen KP2AD St Thomas US Virgin Island.

Stesen kedua pula ialah webSDR SP3PGX club station at University of Zielona Gora di Poland.
Stesen terakhir adalah webSDR on Softrock Lite II located in Bucharest di Romania.

Major Solar Storm Hits Earth
The largest solar radiation storm since 2005 has struck the Earth, touching off radio blackouts, geomagnetic storms and aurora displays in upper latitudes. According to CQ Propagation Editor Tomas Hood, NW7US, a long-duration magnitude M8.7 (M9-class) X-ray flare erupted in NOAA Active Sunspot Region (AR) 1402 on January 23, peaking at 0359 UTC. This flare triggered a proton event, resulting in an S3 (Strong) Radiation (Proton) Storm and a Polar Cap Absorption (PCA) event over the polar regions.
This PCA event caused a complete radio blackout over high-latitude and polar regions. This results in any trans-polar radio paths to become as dead as a rock. This solar proton radiation storm is the strongest of the current solar cycle.
In addition, NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center said plasma from an associated coronal mass ejection was expected to arrive on January 24, with storm conditions extending into the 25th.Watch for additional degradation of HF radio conditions and enhanced auroral conditions on VHF.

World Radiocommunication Conference 2012 (WRC-12)
World Radiocommunication Conference opens in Geneva
Focus on spectrum and satellite orbital resources will have global implications for a wireless future
Geneva, 23 January 2012 – The World Radiocommunication Conference opened in Geneva today to review and revise the Radio Regulations, the international treaty governing the use of radio-frequency spectrum and satellite orbits.
The work of this international treaty-making Conference will be conducted over four weeks until 17 February to address the changes required to the regulation of orbit/spectrum resources in the interest of the users of these scarce resources, with global implications for policy-makers, regulators, the industry as well as end-users.
Mr Tarek Al Awadhi of the United Arab Emirates was appointed Chairman of the World Radiocommunication Conference along with six Vice Chairmen: Mr D. Anstrom (United States), Mr E. Fournier (France), Mr A. Nalbandian (Armenia), Mr M. Ouhadj (Algeria), Mr H. Al-Shankiti (Saudi Arabia) and Mr A.R. Jamieson (New Zealand).
Over 3000 participants, representing more than 150 out of the ITU’s 193 Member States are expected to attend the four-week conference, making it one of the most significant ITU events. About 100 Observers from among ITU’s 700 private sector members along with international organizations will also attend the 2012 World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-12).
“The World Radiocommunication Conference will review and modify global spectrum regulations to ensure that this most precious resource is used effectively to benefit all players,” ITU Secretary-General Hamadoun Touré said. “The aim is to ensure reliable radio services are available everywhere and at any time enabling people to live and travel safely while enjoying high performance radiocommunications.”
François Rancy, Director of ITU’s Radiocommunication Bureau, said, “The decisions taken by the ITU Membership during WRC-12 will play a vital role in contributing towards improved access and development of ICT wireless infrastructure, in particular in meeting the challenges of mobile broadband and ensuring that ICTs work for the benefit of all the world’s people. The objective is to enable the introduction of the latest technological developments, while protecting investments and favouring economies of scale.”
Fuelled by rapid technological developments in information and communication technologies (ICT) along with increasing convergence of radiocommunication services in today’s communication devices, there is an urgent need to ensure the best efficiencies in the use of spectrum, a finite resource. WRC-12 will examine the technical, regulatory and operational aspects to address frequency allocation and frequency sharing to ensure high quality of radiocommunication services for maritime and aeronautical transport as well as for scientific purposes related to the environment, meteorology and climatology, disaster prediction, mitigation and relief.
The management of satellite orbital slots and associated spectrum resources will be a key area of focus for WRC-12.The Conference goal will be to ensure that the modifications made to the international procedures for the coordination and registration of satellite systems provide for equitable and efficient use of these resources.
WRC-12 will also advance the introduction of mobile broadband and other advanced technologies such as the development of Ultra High Definition Television (UHDTV), promote the use of the digital dividend resulting from the switch over to digital TV, as well as consider the potential for radiocommunications to act as a catalyst to reduce the impact of human activity on the environment.

Nauru
The first week went away of our 4 weeks activation of Nauru. The antennas in the sea need daily maintenance. The sea is very rough and destructive. The high tide is cc. 2 meters with 1-1.5 meter high very strong waves. We can do the maintenance during the low tide, at noon. The temperature is in the sun around is 40 Co or even more, so it is very hard to working 2-3 hours in the sun every day.
The propagation was not really good in this week. The low bands, 160 and 80 meters are very noisy. The equatorial noise level is S5-S9. Not really possible to work on the low bands. The higher bands are quite O.K. to NA/SA direction. AS and OC is not a problem from here. However the EU openings are very poor. The signal level from EU is around the noise level. Very difficult to copy the EU stations. Everyone from Europe are like a very small pistol here. The operating attitude also does not help us to copy the stations. We are fully aware of the EU opening times on different bands. We are fully aware of the propagation. We try to do our best but needs your help to working with EU station. EU stations, please be patient, please listen, listen and listen. Repeat your full callsign three, four times with 20-25 wpm maximum. If we can copy a fragment only, please do not call if it does not match with your callsign. Repeat your full callsign two three times. Please check the on line log. Do not work again if you are in the log. You must cooperate. We also have strong QRM from near station, probably from VK, in the pile-up window and as well as on our QRG. It is a pity and we can not understand this attitude.

VP6T
DATES and OBJECTIVES
20th January to 04th February 2012, DXCC entity = Pitcairn Island, all 9 HF bands, 160-10 m.
After their successful operation from French Polynesia in February 2010 as TX4T, three of the four operators, joined by two new operators, are pleased to announce a new major DXpedition to CQ Zone 32 and to the famous and mythical Pitcairn Island in the heart of the Pacific Ocean
This DX operation from Pitcairn has a target of more than 30,000 QSOs. With good propagation forecast for early 2012, efforts will be made to give this extremely rare entity to deserving DXers on as many bands as possible, but especially on the low bands. The rarity of VP6 ensures that all operators will be kept fully occupied during our nine full days on the island. We will be travelling there by boat. We are planning to have three stations active round-the-clock.
Travelling to Pitcairn is not easy. There are only limited travel opportunities to get there. January has been chosen as the optimum time for HF propagation to the major centres of amateur radio activity, at the heart of winter in the Northern hemisphere.
The principal objective is to offer DXers worldwide the chance to make at least one contact with this remote DXCC entity that hasn’t seen any large-scale amateur DX-pedition operation for the past decade.
All nine HF bands will be activated to offer new band slots to the DXCC Challenge chasers. The team will make a particular effort to focus on contacts with Europe and the US East Coast. Openings to Europe will be short. We will pay special attention to sunrise and sunset times. We count on the discipline and fair play of US West Coast operators to give a chance to the propagation-challenged continents.

TN2T
After 6 months of trying to get a license for TN, we're delighted to inform you that our next DX pedition is a GO! During our previous expedition as 9Q50ON, we made a special effort to hand out a new country on the lower bands. We logged over 500 QSO's on 160, and about 1350 QSO's on 80m. This time we will improve our RX ability with the K7TJR receiving system using 4 verticals, to have a better S/N ratio and the possibility to switch in 4 directions. We can use this RX system simultaneous on two radio's!(80m and 160m)
On the higher bands the QSO impact will be much higher than the 9Q50ON operation, where we had few QSO's on 10m! Even 6m could be possible!
Most of the team members have been active on several Dxpedition adventures.
Our operating site is near the sea. This will improve our signal strength in most parts of the globe, especially on the lower bands.
Dates : Sunday January 22nd until Tuesday 31st
